Modern Brilliant Cut:
During the early and mid 1900's diamond cutters discovered new machinery and technology, and the modern brilliant cut was discovered. With more brilliance and dispersion than a european cut, and possessing 58 facets, these are the mainstay of the diamond industry to this day. Round brilliant cut diamonds will have thin to thick girdles with small culets. During the 1970's and 1980's large tables were popular, yet today small tables are popular.
